The Wigner crystal, an ordered array of electrons, is one of the very first proposed many-body phases stabilized by the electron-electron interaction. In this talk, I will introduce our systematically examination of this quantum phase with capacitance and conductance measurements, where the device length-scale is comparable with the crystal’s correlation length. The high performance of our technique makes it possible to quantitatively study the dynamic response of Wigner crystals within the single crystal regime. We calculated it’s physical properties such as elastic modulus, permittivity, correlation length, etc., and studied the solid-liquid transition and the resonance of Wigner crystals.
